Weddings

We’re delighted that you are thinking about getting married in St Giles – it’s a beautiful setting for this most special occasion. You are entitled to be married at St Giles:

  • If you or your intended spouse or one of your parents lives in the parish, or have at any time lived in the parish for a period of at least six months;
  • If you were baptised or prepared for confirmation in the parish;
  • If your parents or grandparents were married in the parish;
  • If you or your parents have regularly attended St Giles for a period of at least six months.

If none of the connections apply, it may still be possible to get married at church – especially if there is enough time before your wedding for you to regularly attend services at St Giles for a period of at least six months.

We do consider remarriage in church of those who are divorced, but this will not be possible in all circumstances.
